Steve inspected our used Jetta before we bought it from the dealership, and did a great job in outlining what he though were the good and bad points of the vehicle.

Steve is courteous and extremely professional. He took the time to explain his repairs and his price was very reasonable. My wife and I went to Steve after having a very bad and expensive experience with a less reputable mechanic on the island. Steve, showed us the errors the previous mechanic made and explained how we could fix the errors in the most economical way possible. Steve will be honest with you and tell you what can and can't wait to be repaired. I will definitely go back to him for any auto repairs in the future.

I found "Steve" here at your mechanics files, & he was really great! Extremely communicative (!) and very fast--had my VW back in 24 hours. The shop is easy to miss--a warehouse on left side of Puuhale (heading makai).

As much of a detective as a mechanic. Our Eurovan was a major challenge to Steve and he did a great job each time. My opinions regarding the Eurovan are a whole other subject which I won't get into here.

Steve is often referred to as the "VW Jedi" and for good
reason: he has the rare combination of knowledge,
experience, insight and professionalism that every car owner
hopes to find in a mechanic, and much more.
Steve is no run-of-the-mill mechanic, either. He prepared
for his career by getting a four-year degree,
God-knows-how-many certifications, and the designation of
"Certified Master Technician." On top of that, he's simply a
great guy who is always 100% honest. Some may think that his
prices are a little above average, but I can say from years
of doing business with Steve that he has saved me far more
money than I have paid him and that he has always exceeded
my expectations.
Steve is in extremely high demand, but when he says he's
going to do something, he does it, does it well, and does it
in a very reasonable amount of time. I've yet to see him
make anything I would call a mistake, but every time I have
asked him about something, he has always responded honestly
- even when he could have easily distorted to the truth for
his own benefit. In other words, Steve's integrity is
without question and I'm sure he would have no problem
accepting responsibility for anything.
The location of Steve's shop is in an industrial area that
appears to be a little run-down, but is actually a very safe
area that is exactly what it claims to be: an industrial
area. Public transportation is easily accessible from where
he's at, and getting to the shop is no big deal. The hours
are from 9am to 6pm, and Steve is OK with a car being
dropped off the night before if you can't drop it off on the
same day as your appointment.
I have never heard of anyone being dissatisfied with Steve's
service, regardless of who they are, and have always known
Steve to go way out of his way for anyone who may be in a
difficult position. He's humble, very hard-working, and is
nothing less than a world-class mechanic/technician.

Steve is a Volkswagen GURU. What he lacks in all the things the
dealership has (fancy waiting rooms, courtesy shuttles, online scheduling),
he more than makes up for with knowledge, skill, and honesty.
Steve has fixed some bizarre things on my Passat and taken more time
in 2 visits to explain the repairs to me than the 6 dealers I've been to in
the prior 9 years COMBINED. And unlike the dealers, he shows me the
problems and repairs, as opposed to a service consultant flim-flam man
telling me about them.
The bads: it can be a long wait to get an appointment and sometimes
he's hard to get hold of.
