Billy sometimes actually gives estimates that are lower than the bill. If something doesn't need to be fixed or replaced, he will tell you so. Only once did he surprise me with a bill that was considerably larger than I expected. He explained that brake parts were needed, and there was absolutely no doubt in my mind as to the verity of his words. Billy has worked on my cars and my wife's cars for ten years, even letting us use one of his vehicles when we had to have transportation. We only buy foreign cars because that's all he works on. We trust him completely.

After I got the car of my dreams--a 2003 VW Beetle convertible--off the lot of the evil VW dealership in Savannah, I turned to this site to find a reliable mechanic for The VitameatavegeBug. She's not gone anywhere else since. Billy and Brenda treat my car like it was the Queen of England's ride...which tickles me no end. Knock on wood, I haven't had any repair jobs, but their prices for maintenance work are extremely reasonable (read laughably cheap). Billy's lot is like a VW museum. I bought a cheapo "authentic" VW meep-meep horn off the internet that Billy installed. It worked once and then was silent. Piece o' crap. No prob, says Billy, and the next thing I know I actually have a REAL VW meep-meep horn, swiped from a relic in the yard. What a gas! I'm never going anywhere else until Billy retires and then only where he sends me.

I told my husband that we could never move away from Statesboro, because that would mean leaving Billy. Ditto for buying anything other than an import. I actually enjoy going to Billy's; he, Brenda, and Ashley are always so pleasant to talk to, and they take time with you and your car. The only 4 I gave I did because of the rotten luck we had with my beloved Honda Accord. Billy worked and worked on that vehicle, trying to keep it from shutting down unexpectedly. He even went in on Saturdays (he's closed that day) to try and fix the problem. He finally suggested we take it to the Honda dealership. They couldn't fix it either! We turned it in to the Subaru people for a nice new Forester. Billy is now looking after it, and has even offered to buy it when we are ready for something else. Ain't he great?

Billy is the best mechanic ever! He is honest. His wife Brenda works at the shop also and is a charmer . My car once had to be towed in because it would not start at all. I expected a big bill to get it fixed. When I came to pick the car up Billy told me that would be something like $.75. He replaced a fuse. I love this mechanic! Though I have moved 60 miles away I return to him to have all work done on my car!
