Well, I called around to a couple of shops that were listed here and got estimates. The first place I called gave me an estimate almost twice that of Florida Transmission's estimate. When I got there, Randy, even wrote the estimate down for me on the paperwork. Later on when I called to check on my car I was told that I didn't need an entire new clutch system, but actually only one piece. I ended up paying less than half the estimated price and the car was ready in two days. Randy even sprayed gummy stuff on my fan belt so it wouldn't sqeak anymore. I definitely recommend.

These guys are from the old school where they just go ahead and fix the vehicle without a lot of mumbo jumbo. Great people and quality workmanship.

My wife's 99 RX300 transmission died as she was driving
through Tallahassee on her way to Pensacola. She took the
vehicle to the local Toyota dealer. His estimate for
transmission was $4500. Based on reviews on this site, I
called Randy at Florida Transmission, had him pick up and
tow the vehicle to Florida Transmission, Inc. and had the
transmission rebuilt for 1/3 less. I couldn't be happier
with their work, including his explaination of why the
transmission on this model fails, although he doesn't see
many Lexus in his shop. Tell Randy the Red Lexus from
Pensacola sent you!

Completed transmission repairs on 1972 Dodge. Excellent
work, completed quickly. Staff seemed very enthuasiastic
about working on an older vehicle. Would visit again!

I've used FL transmission many times. The first time I was
referred by my mechanic and was worried I would have to get
a new transmission in my '84 Chevy Caprice. A few
adjustments and $25 later I drove off. They are very
honest, explained what was wrong, and fixed each problem I
had the first time they worked on the car. If they couldn't
do the work they referred me to another shop. They have
been in business many years and are very reasonable in
costs. I am a single female and will continue to use them
in the future if I need transmission work. The shop is not
fancy but the people are friendly and honest.
