We were having some trouble down shifting from overdrive with my wives' 1989 Lincoln. Because we were new in the area and did not know of a good repair shop I decided to take a chance on the local lincoln dealer. After waiting one and one half hours after my appointment to have a nechanic look at her car the mechanics all went to lunch. I retrieved her car and said goodby. It was to cost $59.00 to have the mechanic look at the car. After driving into Trogdon Automotive to make an appointment Ken took a break from his lunch, looked under the hood for 30 seconds, and said the car had not had a recall modification, we were not notified, and we were in danger of destroying the transmission. He suggested that we go to lunch and come back in one hour. We did and the car was repaired. The bill was $37.00.

I was recommended this shop by my mother who took her car there once several years ago. She said they did a good job. It was recommended to her by a friend at church who said the owner was an honest, Christian man. I took my Olds there in February of 2000 to check out the cooling system because I was smelling something hot and thought the needle was registering a bit too high when I stopped at a red light. The mechanic hooked up a hand-held electronic gadget to the computer of the car and took a reading of all the vital signs. They checked out OK. I went on a trip of 1500 miles and returned without any trouble. Later I had the brakes checked out too to see if they were causing the hot smell. When the right rear wheel was pulled off, the hot smell cause was found - a plastic bag had gotten wrapped around the exhaust pipe. On the first visit, I wasn't charged anything to take the computer readings. On the second visit, to put the car on a rack, pull off all four wheels and inspect the brakes, I was charged $30, which I thought reasonable. I will definitely take my car back there if I have any other problems. The new owner, Stanley (I think), is also very friendly. The employees are friendly and competent too. The place is neat and clean.
