Don is great. I am very picky and he has been my mechanic for about 12 years. I had a Fiat spider for most of those years (which he HATED saying only Brit cars were worse than Italian ones). He, nevertheless, always found a way to fix it, even when he had to be creative when parts were unavailable/outrageously expensive. He helped my partner out, fixing the muffler on his old Porsche by welding it, saving us lots of money. He will pick up his old customers who live nearby. The only bad thing is that he is so very busy that I almost always get my car back later than originally thought. Perhaps that's because he knows I work out of the house & sometimes can use my partner's car. Anyway, I highly re

Don has old-fashioned values of fix-it-right and fix-it-fair. His facility is always well-kept, has a customer lounge/waiting area and he and his mechanics always have a great attitude. If you think you know what you are talking about, you better be right! -- He won't go against you, but you should really pose your opinions as questions -- he REALLY DOES know more than you!!

After finding this shop on the Car Talk website, I took my car to Master Tech at 202 SW 15th St., Fort Lauderdale, with a weird clunking noise and brake issues -- a great setup for a shop wanting to talk a woman by herself into expensive repairs. So, what happened? After checking out the car a bit, Don took it for a road test to listen for the clunking noise, heard it and said, "I don't think it's anything to worry about." As a single female, having learned to be weary of mechanics in general, this was music to my ears. From the moment I first spoke with Don, he immediately put me at ease with his kind and friendly nature. As he moved around the car, he was so comfortable and easy going, it was immediately apparent that his technical expertise and love of cars was extensive. Don's easy professional manner came through as he explained what brake work needed to be done, quoted a very fair price and even drove me to work. When I picked up my car later that day, it was ready to go, at the price promised-with no additional fees for finding things while working on my car and the brakes work beautifully. My whole experience with Don's Master Tech was easy and convenient-great customer service, honesty, fair prices, and professional repair work. This is a place that's easy to recommend.

Master Tech has serviced my 2005 Mercedes SLK350 and my 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. His shop is convenient, his employees are always courteous and my vehicles are always returned clean. I highly recommend Master Tech for both foreign and domestic vehicles.

Recently, my Acura's transmission was slipping. Don took the car and tried to diagnose the problem. Once he was able to, he found that there was an extended warranty for my make. He gave me the information that HE took the time to research. Instead of telling me he could fix it, he was honest enough to tell me about this other possibility. THANKS! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND DON AND MASTERTECH!
