My truck was broken down in a 7-Eleven parking lot, I asked a guy getting into another vehicle for help, he drove me down the street to JD Auto, he said they charged a fair price, and were excellent mechanics. It is a family business, father, son, and the fathers wife. My wife drives a 4 wheel drive Bronco, it was making all kinds of odd noises we took the vehicle into the shop, he could have charged us anything to fix it, instead he tightened up all the underthings and charged us nothing. he is not cheap, but when both our vehicles go into the shop they come out fixed. He also greases up door hinges and small things at NC. They keep up with the lastet repair information etc. we have recomended this shop to many people, none have had a bad experience.

They have worked on many different kinds of cars for me for over fifteen years. Other dealers often bring "problem" cases to them for diagnoses. They don't do unnecessary work, but give good advice, and warn you when something needs to be done. When you tke your car in regularly, you seldom have any unexpected breakdowns.

I don't yet have an opinion because I just had my car towed there tonight in a pooring rain. The shop manager, wife of the most senior mechanic loaded me into her car and drove through intense flooding conditions to geet me an affordable rental car. One thing that Car Talk MUST fix is the address of the shop. The correct address is 160 NW 24h Street, Boca Raton, FL. They have been at the same location for 34 years as of today. I don't yet know how viable they are but needed to correct the bad information Car Talk is publishing about them. The Car Talk published address is a Goodyear Tire center which, of course, is a terrible choice for honest car maintenance. When JD Auto finally figures out why my crappy 2005 Malibou won't start I will update my review of them but, for now, all I can report is that they are extremely friendly and willing to do whatever is needed to make the experience as painless as possible - a HUGE benefit in in itself. Jerry
