>On my way home from work I noticed that my odometer wasn't >working, moments later the gauges failed, next, my radio went >and then the clock started to fade. I just made it into a local >garge when the car died and wouldn't start without a jump, but >then wouldn't restart. Garage owner predicted an alternator >problem for my '94 Nissan Altima with 104,000 miles. Seemed >reasonable. When I went to pick up the car the next day I >received a pleasant surprise. The meter fuse blew - cost $30.00. >I could have easily be scammed. I would like to give credit to >Tom at Greenville Amoco on Kennett Pike in Greenville, DE Phone >302-654-9155 and nominate him for the Car Talk Good Guy Award - >if there is such a thing. Don't know if there is a place for >such info on your web site - but felt others should know about >him. >

Greenville Amoco is not located in Winterthur....There is no such place. Winterthur is an estate owned by the late H.B. du Pont. Greenville Amoco is located in (imagine this)...GREENVILLE, DE!! of the wealthiest ZIP codes in the country. It's certainly a "safe" neighborhood.

Very honest and trustworthy place. I, as well as people have recommended there, have had nothing but the best results. As far as the safety of Greenville...just b/c it is a wealthy area doesn't mean it is safe. I know for a fact that every now and then the garage has problems with break-ins.

The business is a family business and has been for years. The owner realizes that value of the customer and will not nickle and dime you. Finally, if there is a problem with your car, and they don't get it the first time, they will fix it til it is right, and not at your cost. They always call you back when they say they will, and they will always check before they do work. I have never had a problem with them, and the work is always top quality. Finally, they will give you a ride--withing reason.

This garage was highly recommended by a trustworthy friend and I can see why. No charge for a simple repair. I have been to two other garages in the area that charged $100 to diagnose a problem and in both cases the diagnostics were not correct. I will go back without question.
