Antonio "Tony" Cardoso runs his shop part-time these days (3/2000). He works days in a Mercedes shop in New London and can be reached during his lunch break via his cel- phone, or leave a message at the garage phone. Leave a message. Tell him Joe with the Renault LeCar gave him a great recommendation. Tony speaks five or six European languages, from Portugese (his native), to spanish, Italian, others, and English, too, but English speakers do have to listen carefully and ask, if you don't understand something over the phone, for example. Tony is a highly skilled mechanic: he is BMW factory trained, currently works at a Mercedes shop in New London, runs his operation on weeknights and weekends. Tony is a real human being! You should take the time to meet him, don't be in a rush, if you can help it. Tony always has time to check something out. And he's never been wrong, so far (knock on wood). And he's a great guy. His prices are fair. He'll give you an accurate estimate beforehand. I believe that he can fix anything...and having a LeCar, just about anything could happen. My car runs smoothly, 128,000 mis., and whenever something happens, he's thoughtful and quick to answer the question "what the hell could be causing THAT?". Call him, if you enjoy working with a small shop, one- mechanic operation.
