I got an estimate for a water pump replacement costs including labor of $200. This was a great price, but unfortunately they could not do the work that day. I could not wait so I had someone else do the work for $300 on the same day. I have a friend in town who always takes his cars to these mechanics (for years) and says they are the best.

This repair shop actually did exactly what they said they were going to do. They stuck to the estimate (even when there was something extra they had to do, NO CHARGE!), my car was ready when they told me it would be, they explained everything in detail AND their estimate was lower than 3 other repair shops (this was a great savings since replacing the timing belt is no small job!). Frenchy's is an honest and reliable shop!

When I moved to Meriden in 2007 I needed a mechanic to look at my car ASAP because it was not steering properly. They got me in the same day and fixed the problem within a day. A few weeks later when my check engine light came on, they got me in ASAP and ran the diagnostic free of charge. I have been a loyal customer ever since. They have always been honest and forthright with me (and I am a woman and HATE dealing with garages). If they can get me a used part and it makes sense, that is what they recommend. If it takes them more hours to fix something than they estimate, they don't charge me for the extra time. To me, this is a garage with old-fashioned values and I highly recommend them.
