The two main guys (Larry and Gene) that run the shop are experienced and honest, which is what keeps me going back to them. However, not all their mechanics have that same level of experience. I found their prices a tad high, but then again, I hate to spend a lot money on my beat up cars. They've been always helpful and taken time to fully explain the problems and what alternatives I might have. Their garage is clean and so are the repairs. Like I said, because I believe they are honest, I don't mind paying their prices, knowing that I'm not paying for unnecessary work.

I drive a used Volkswagon, and I try to keep up with regular maintanence & such. As a single mom with relatively little car knowledge & a tight budget, I really appreciate how well the guys at Tony's treat me every time I come in, be it for something major or just for regular maintenance. Even when I'm freaking out over some strange noise I can't find a reason for, they always hear me out & provide a listening ear, and they expain the why & how, too. Plus, they're just down the street from me, and they're close to the city bus line. Each of the guys that works there always seems to look pretty darn happy to be there, and you just don't get that in a lot of garages you walk into. What with their proximity to UConn, they do a kickin' amount of business with students, but still have a strong following of us "townies". I actually do recommend Tony's to others, and nobody's paying me to say that!!!!

This garage is characterized by good, honest work, a great front desk staff(Larry, Larry Jr, and Gene are more like good friends), always on time. Even a great place to buy a car! I have done business with them for nearly 20 years, and look forward to 20 more. I wouldn't trust anyone else with my vehciles. They always keep their eyes on the ball.

My family has been going to Tony's for over 25 years. They've been great with all of the old clunkers we've drug to their doorstep over the years. The service has always been excellent and the prices are fair. The guys are upbeat, friendly, and patient with my occasional random questions. Whenever I move, I'm nervous about trying a new garage(I've been totally taken advantage of in the past). So, I still bring my car to Tony's for major servicing while I'm in CT for visits. It's a long commute from Virginia, but it's worth it. My family has always recommneded Tony's to friends for sound service and fair prices.

I went to Tony's after my radiator began to leak. They said I had a major leak and needed a new one. It was old and I agreed. They replaced it, and within a week it began to leak again and my temp gauge was going all over the place. They told me that a rock had punctured a new, small whole in the newly replaced radiator and that I was lucky that they were going to send it back to the supplier as defective and they would put a new one in, at no additional charge. After they put a second radiator and new thermostat in, it did the exact same thing within a week. I asked them again about another, very unlikely possibility, that a mysteriously agile rock hit my radiator twice in two weeks and they became visibly annoyed with my suggestion. They completed the work again at no cost, but my temp gauge still registers all over the place, and I am again currently having radiator problems. I asked peers about Tony's shop and most say they had okay experiences, but one said that when they had radiator problems, they did not like the way Tony's handled it.

I've been going to Tony's for years, as has my family. They are wonderful and always a group of funny guys to deal with. Most importantly, though, I've driven a string of old "beaters" and they have always done EXACTLY what I've asked of them: what needs to be done to keep the car running and nothing more. I've never completed an unnecessary repair and my cars have ran longer than my wildest dreams (or fantasies in some cases). They've given me great advice about new car purchases, not in their own self-interest at all. Highly recommended.
