Andy never tries to sell a service you don't need. If a problem needs attention, he'll tell you; if it's not important, he'll tell you the remedy or just reassure you that it can wait until something bigger needs repair. My Golf is 9 years old, with 158,000 miles on it, and it runs better than when it was new, thanks to Andy.

Well I have had this unusual engine knocking noise for a while in my 94 Golf III. I only have 71K on it and it is my pride and joy so naturally I was very conserned and confused. I have many upgrades and performance parts added to my car and many mechanics dont even want to look at it, let alone touch it. Forget any VW dealerships...they recommended that I spend $2200 and get my engine rebuilt there. I laughed and walked out. After speaking to many mechanics and backyard mechanics, I has some idea of what the problem could/might be. Well, not only did they take there time to talk to me, but they scheduled me right in. Not really knowing what the problem was themselves, they started with the inexpensive, quick, and easy things to check. They were in contact with me when they didnt find any cure. From there we talked about going into the engine from the bottem first. Upon taking off the oil pan and further inspecting the inside they found something odd with all of my bearings (crank & main). Uneven wear, poped off seals and 2 non-stamped VW/Audi bearings. Not knowing if this was the problem, they suggested I replace them anyway. I gave the "Go Ahead" with that. The next possible step would be to go in though the top of the engine, a very expensive and time consuming job. Fortunatly I didnt have the money to proceed. So at that time I said "thats all I can afford for now" They put everything back together, and when they started it, NO NOISE! They were very fair and honest with me. We talked several times on the phone. Never did they "brush me off" or try to screw me. I would recommend them to anyone and everyone who is into VWsport tuning, or even to the average VW owner who is sick of there lame a$$ dealerships. thank you.

I used D&D several times ranging from minor work, such as water pump replacement and u-joint replacement, up to major work when my daughter slid the car into a high curb causing extensive suspension damage. Always found them to do good work within a reasonable time and at a reasonable cost.

Andy is probably the best and most competent VW/Audi mechanic I have ever known. He is also a great person and I consider him a friend. I would trust him with any car problem I have. I have always been satisfied with his work and the total time my car is in his shop.

Dave was great! He helped me with my old Cressida and got me running again really soon. He ALSO recommended a transmission place that did an AMAZING job (Main St. Transmission)!!!

I have owned VWs since 1985 and have used D & D Auto Repair for about twenty years. I have tried dealerships, and some other mechanics for maintenance and repair.D & D Auto is about as fine a shop that you will fine for VW or Audi Repair. They are highly trained, competent, and most of all do outstanding work at a very fair price. I would highly recommend them to anybody who values honest knowledgeable mechanics.
