Ken is as honest as the day is long. He always tells people whats in "their" best interest. When I finally decided that my '83 Honda wagon with 175000 miles had seen better days, he told me quite truthfully that while he'd love to sell me one of their "used" vehicles, I would be better off looking for a new car that would serve me long and well. Ultimately, he convinced me not only to look at Subaru, but told me of the "Mom & Pop" dealer (Reynold's Subaru) one town away. Although he did not know these people personally, he knew that they were the most honest and reputable dealer in the area. He was absolutely correct. I bought the new Impreza LS '93 wagon in 6/93 and have put 117000 miles on it to date with absolutely no problems. This , of course, doesn't put any money in his pocket ( but I do stop in and buy gas), nor in the dealers' ( but it's OK, they sell boats too!!). I'll miss them both when I move to Colorado. Hopefully, I'll find some clones out there.

My parents, brother, and I have been taking our vehicles to Saybrook Tire & Auto for many years. Even though I now live 30 miles away, I continue to take the time and inconvenience to get my car serviced there. Kenny is hardworking, honest, knowledgable, and explains problems in terms that an automotive idiot can understand. He has a great team and has even told me not to bring my car in to his shop if he felt it was something they couldn't fix to save me money. On a trip my girlfriend and I took to Maine last year, we called Kenny to ask for advice on a problem we were having. He took the time to listen and offer advice even though we were several hundred miles away. I would suggest that anyone in the Connecticut shoreline area from Branford to New London consider bringing their vehicle to Saybrook Tire & Auto for repair.

My family and I have been taking our cars to Kenny and his brother for more than 10 years. We drive old cars into the ground and he has helped us keep them going to 200,000 miles and more with straight answers, good humor, and excellent service. He will always that the time to explain options and outline pros and cons of choices, and gives reasonable predictions of when a job will be done and sticks to them.
