I've taken in my Toyota and my Mazda many times and I'm convinced that these guys are honest, hardworking, competent and not overly priced.

I have used J&G many times. I take my car there for everything from oil changes and smog tests to replacing timing belts, water pumps, brakes and mufflers. I am a woman with very little knowledge of how my car runs, and the people at J&G never take advantage of my lack of knowledge. Just yesterday I went in with a rattle and gave them carte blanche to fix whatever needed fixing in the car. They found the problem, then proceeded to let me know that the rattle was not causing a safety issue and waiting to fix it wasn't going to make the problem more expensive in the future, so I could wait a few months to have it fixed. I am always pleasantly shocked when mechanics are honest and don't try to push or scare you into unnecessary repairs. I have price shopped in the area, and J&G is not only honest, and efficient, but their prices are very reasonable. This may not be a good example, but they are about 25% cheaper than the local Pep Boys. They are also very nice, so I highly recommend them! They are located on the corner of Walnut Avenue and Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena.

These guys are great! I took my car in the first time after a Toyota dealer tried to tell me I needed about $500 in repairs (after they'd done an oil change). And these guys looked over the car and confirmed that I only needed one - fairly small, fairly inexpensive repair. The second time, I took my car in when the check engine light went on. They checked it immediately, told me what was wrong and how much it would cost to fix it, and also told me it wasn't worth it or necessary to fix the problem. You can't ask for more than that!

for the first time since i owned it, my car started having trouble & acting unreliable. my usual mechanic recommended i come here because he felt Ramsey would be better-equipped to handle the problem. his confidence is 100% well-placed. Ramsey is honest, kind, and a great communicator -- gave me regular updates on the car and what he was doing. and after a lot of mechanic-detective work, he located the problem, fixed it completely, and then only charged me for the part & the labour to install it. what could have been a total nightmare was instead an opportunity for me to feel really taken care of, and not ripped off at all.
