John is a great mechanic and is used to working on unusual cars, Porsche, Jaguar, etc. but does not turn down regular stuff either. The best part is that he has a clear head about fixing stuff that isn't important. I mean does anyone really need a heater fixed if the clutch is going out? He's also told me when it would be better to take the job to someone who can do it cheaper (like oil changes) because it is not complicated enough to get me in trouble. Until he got a receptionist, you could only make an appointment by stopping by. He says: "Can't fix cars if I'm on the phone" (phone-off-hook tone in background).

For nearly ten years, John has done a great job of keeping our fleet of aged vehicles running safely. When he says a car is ready for my teenager to take on the road, it is as if it were his own child driving. He does take the time to inform, giving clear information of the options.

John is AWESOME. My only complaint as a modern young person is that I can't reach them on the bloody phone! But, he's busy enough he doesn't need to change for me. If I still lived on BI, I'd go out of my way to have him service my Trooper.

Based on almost five years of maintaining our aging Toyotas, I have complete confidence in John's integrity and competence, and in that of the mechanics that work for him. He is cost-conscious in obtaining replacement parts, and takes the time to explain repairs to the mechanically challenged. Many times he has retained the replaced part to show me how it failed.
