Henry Is Seven!

Granted, Car Talk might not be the most high-brow, intellectual, or culturally rich program on the air. But it IS the most fun! (What other show feeds the staff cappuccinos and jelly donuts on a regular basis?!) And working here means working with a dedicated crew who would do anything to help a friend in need.

Henry sleeps through his first encounter with Tom back in 2005.

When my son Henry was born seven years ago and diagnosed with cancer (you can read my original story here) Tom and Ray immediately asked, “How can we help?” (Behind the grease fact: such generosity is in their genes. They really are two spectacularly great guys.) Between hospital visits, nourishing dinners of take-out Chinese food, and some much-needed laughs, they helped keep our spirits high through Henry's months of chemotherapy.

But, they wanted to do more. So, when it came time to raise money for cancer research and care for patients everywhere, Click and Clack were the first in line to hand over some cash.

They’ve done it every year since. And for that, I am deeply grateful.

Now, they’re donating again—and I hope you’ll join us!

On August 4th and 5th, Car Talk's David "Calves of Belleville" Greene and Henry's dad Josh, will join over 5,000 cyclists to ride in the Pan Mass Challenge. It's a fundraising bike ride covering 200 miles to raise crucial funds for cancer research and care.  We hope you'll join us as we support Josh and David in their efforts.

One of the really great things about the Pan Mass Challenge, is that every single penny raised goes to fighting this horrible disease. Not many other events can say that.

Henry's doctors call him a miracle. And Henry wouldn't be with us today without the generous donations of people like you. Why? It’s simple. The money raised for research led an amazing team of doctors to diagnose his cancer early --early enough so that now he can ride his bike, swim and devour peppermint ice cream. All the things little kids should do.

Please consider joining Tom, Ray and everyone at Car Talk Plaza by making a tax deductable donation to the Pan Mass Challenge. No one battles cancer alone.  Together, we can make a difference! Henry is living proof of that.

Thank you for your time, consideration and support.
