I usually use Vern over at Parker Imports, but they will not touch domestic cars. They suggested I take my Dodge to H&L and I've had such good luck with Parker Imports that I figured it would be okay. It was. I thought I needed rebuilt cv joints on a 86 Caravan. They did the whole axle for less, then pointed out a couple of other problems. I know this can be a racket, but they were very specific about what the problem was, what it was doing and what the cost would be. Turned out it solved a couple of long standing problems that we had just gotten use to for a couple of hundred dollars. Now instead of planning to get rid of my Dodge I plan on hanging on to it. I do a lot of my own work and usually know when these guys are blowing smoke. I let Vern and now H&L do the really nasty stuff.

Because they are so good, it can be difficult to get an appointment quickly. They also do not take highly computerized or foriegn cars.
