I have never met more honest car guys anywhere... They
treated me right and the repairs cost less that they
estimated before they started...

This shop is especially strong in body work which is Neil
Casey's specialty. But he and his several employees do good
competent mechanical work otherwise and are especially adept
at finding good used parts for old cars in old car lots.
They explain problems clearly and also when a problem
exceeds their capabilities..very few do! Casey's is prompt
in solving winter car-start problems and other problems
which prevent a car from going to the shop. My wife and I
are very appreciative of Casey's work and concern for our
car problems. When my wife ran into our garage door and
brought it down on our car -- a minor catastrophe--Neil
Casey was prompt in coming up to remove the door from the
top of our car, fitting the broken rear light parts
temporarily together with strong package tape, and most
important giving kind supportive counsel to my distraught
wife! How about that!

These folks really are fantastic. I took my car in to get
my brake pads replaced, front and back, and they charged me
about half of what every other place I checked with quoted
me. Since I had to leave my car overnight (not their fault,
I came by late in the day), the owner gave me a ride back
home and picked me up in the morning as well, and he was a
really nice guy about it too.
One thing though is that this place DEFINES
hole-in-the-wall, so I would make sure you have their phone
number when you go- you might not find it without giving
them a call, and there aren't any signs.

I didn't have time to check out my 1999 Honda Odyssey in
Colorado Springs before going to a family reunion in Estes
Park -- I needed to have the van checked out before my son
and girlfriend borrowed it for a western, 3000+ mile road
trip after the reunion. So I checked the Car Talk Mechanics
Files and liked what I read about Casey's Automotive. I
called from Colo. Spgs. and set up an appointment after
discussing the car's symptoms -- Neil Casey's diagnosis
agreed with my mechanic's. The repair was done, but we
forgot to replace the battery (secondary symptom, car had
occasional problems starting in cold weather the previous
winter). When my wife tested the van at altitude (11000+
feet) there were no issues until she stopped an overlook.
She could not get the car re-started and a good samaritan
got the van restarted. A quick call to Neil late on a
Saturday afternoon describing the problem and he said to
bring the van right in. Battery replaced, and my son had a
great road trip (from 12000+ feet in Estes Park to -282 feet
in Death Valley, across deserts, and the hills of San
Francisco. I highly recommend Casey's Automotive in Estes
Park for regular or emergency vehicle repair.
