Kevin and Ron have worked on my '93 Previa since I found their shop with the help of Car Talk's website 3 years ago. Since then they have managed to keep that van running so well that I don't think twice about taking an 8 hr road trip with it. Recently I bought a '02 Tacoma, they looked it over before I purchased it and have been doing the maintenance ever since. I've never had any issues with their service. They are very fair on prices, they work with your schedule, and are very honest with their suggestions on things that may need attention. I'm proud to take both of my Toyota's to K & J's Auto Repair because I know it will be well taken care of. A good mechanic shop is as important as good insurance. I'm lucky to have both.

Kevin is the best and most honest mechanic I've ever had work on my vehicles (he's a former head mechanic at a very large local dealership). His estimates are always very close (sometimes bills are actually LESS than the estimate!) and if he will refer you to a "specialist" if he feels that it's appropriate. His specialty is Toyotas, but he'll work on pretty much anything. He did fine work on my ex-wifes Caravan. Kevin is very knowledgeable about the pros and cons of both after market and dealership parts and is very informative regarding what REALLY needs to be done and whether to just keep an eye on something. He is SCRUPULOUSLY honest and there are times where he's diagnosed a problem and 30 minutes later came back and told me that the repair will be free- I just have to take it to the dealership because there's a recall on the part. I've referred many friends to him, and they're ALL repeat customers and very satisfied. He's amazing!

Relatively new to Denver, used CarTalk to locate reputable mechanic for my 1995 Toyota. Chose this shop because reviews noted mechanic liked Toyota's. No problems with car but with 85,000 miles I needed a good check up before driving 1500 miles to see my grandchildren. Told Kevin my only concern was that a lube/oil place had tried to get me to have transmission work done--claiming transmission fluid was very dirty--I refused of course. Well, first I must say that Kevin was totally professional and I perceived the shop to be a legitimate and well-run (and competent) operation. I waited for my car to be checked out and quite truthfully, feared Kevin would come back with an estimate of substantial work to be done. However, something else quite amazing happened. After 30 minutes or so, Kevin came and sat with me and told me the car was really in great shape--the only thing to consider was service when I reached the 90,000 mark. I was thrilled to hear this. I then asked Kevin if we should go ahead and do this now. He replied, "It's not really necessary. The car is in good condition. Wait until 90,000 miles." I then took out my checkbook to pay. Kevin and his partner (wife) said, "no charge. We don't like to gouge our customers." Believe me, I was in shock and was overwhelmed with this level of honesty and customer consideration. Kevin has a customer for life with me and my little Toyota. This really made my day and quite frankly, renewed my hope/belief that outstanding business practices can still be found in today's unfortunate (but typical) cut throat business environment. Thank you for providing this service through CAr Talk.

I found Kevin's shop on cartalk's mechanic files about 4 years ago. I took my 13 year old Toyota Previa to them with a horrible clunking/shuttering/vibrating noise after several failed trips into the Toyota Dealership. They were able to find the problem in about 2 minutes, and had me back up and running the next day after ordering the part from their local supplier. I became a regular customer after that first visit. They took care of my van for 3 more years until I gave it to my mom as as second vehicle. When she took it into her mechanics shop B&B Auto in Hutchinson Ks, they were amazed to see how good of condition K&J's Auto was able to keep it in. I've since purchased a '02 Toyota Tacoma, and have had all my maintenance done through them. They even looked at it for nothing more than a small tip before I bought it. Since then they've replaced my suspension when it started riding like a farm truck, did the 90k mile maintenance, and all other minor maintenance in between. Including my current tires which are of great quality (on their 3rd season) and for which I can have them fix flats on for free for the life time of the tire. I'm very satisfied with their service and ability and recommend them to anyone who want's a good honest mechanic. I managed to talk my roommate, and a few friends into taking their vehicles there. Though K&J's Auto is only certified for Toyota, my friends have Nissan's, a Buick, and a Cadillac for which they have taken in and are happy with the service.
