My intial encounter with Uridil was when I lived in Denver
but came to Colorado Springs for MasterDrive
driving-skills-instructor training. The motor of my 1971
Volvo ceased running and after failing to repair it myself,
I had it hauled there on a local's recommendation. They
fixed the problem and did an excellent tune up in true
mechanic's fashion, replacing, for example, only one of the
four spark plugs because the other three were fine. Since
then, they have worked exclusively on my cars, particularly
Audis, since I moved to Colorado Springs. They have always
diagnosed, repaired and communicated very well. Their
enthusiasm for cars and their work is genuine and infectious
-- historic, folkloric and specific -- kinda like Click and
Clack, the Tappet brothers. I bought my most recent Audi
from Steve Uridil. And I intend to buy an Isuzu Rodeo from
them soon.

Steve specializes in Diesel engines. When I first went to Colorado Spirngs I received 2 independent recommendations about him since I had a VW Diesel with lots of mileage. During my tour (I'm in the Army and don't stay anywhere a long time) I could aways depend on Steve, or David, his other mechanic, to care for my car as much as I do. He was fair and accurate on his assessments of my problems. If you're a diesel owner, go no farther! As a matter of fact, go there from where ever you live in Colorado or Kansas!

Steve and his mechanics have done all the work on my 94 Volvo as well as two VW's (a 92 Jetta, and 86 diesel Golf) since 1995. There has only been one screw up which they promptly took care of at no cost to me. Steve is especially great with diesel cars, a rarity these days. Most recently he solved a problem that Midas couldn't-ie why the rubber hanger for the front muffler on the Jetta kept melting. Saved me fropm repeated trips to Midas for the warranty coverage for their replacement exhaust system.
