These guys are great! Granted, the costs are occasionally on the high side, but that is usually on my Lincoln. The best thing is they explain everything they plan to do,they call you if anything crops up after their inspection, and tell you just what you NEED to have done and what can wait to be done. This was especially helpful when we brought our "inheirited" Lincoln in the first time. It needed a LOT. One on which to park it that is. Basically after four new (all the same) tires, lots of brake work,(including a Master Cylinder),disks, pads, drums, and idler arm, 2 ball joints, front end alignment, and who knows what, the bill was about $1500.00 and we had us a new car! They are a bunch of cut ups too, once you've been serviced by them often enough. They also can offer good advice as to good engine mechanics, etc. to see about other problems. Ventura is one of the race happy places. Stockcars, Sprints, midgets, go karts, you name it. So there are many mech's around, good and bad. Good luck!

I have had both Mike's work on my Toyota Camry and Ford
Explorer. Brakes, Shocks and Wheel Alignment problems.
The Camry had been aligned four times by a local dealer
with no correction of tire wear. Howery's did it right the
first time with reasonable cost. They also did the brakes
on the Toyota Camry and Ford Explorer for what I considered
reasonable charges and they put new shocks all around on my
Explorer. It was done right each time with follow up free
checks on brake wear after a couple thousand miles.
They joke with the customers and give good explanations of
the diagnosis with what I consider to be Honest and up-
front assesments of the troubles. I recommend them!

This shop is walking distance from home, so I picked them to do a front end
alignment on my vehicle. Mike was my service contact, but another technician
did the actual work. I felt the work was performed at a somewhat leisurely pace,
so be prepared to leave your car or have an extended wait.
Based on my one experience, I definitely intend to bring another vehicle in for
shocks and brake work. I felt like they are a competent and honest shop.
Recommended.
