Mark takes the time to explain the problem, shows you the broken part (after he removes it), and it always knowledgable and competent. He and one other mechanic work at the shop, so you always know who is working on your car. I started using this shop, on the recommendation of 2 other mechanics, after having been burned by the other "Susanville car and truck specialist" (the screw-up who put my belts on wrong and forgot to bleed the power steering system, "that noise is normal", then left a rose on my seat and a "thank you" note. Never trust a shop that leaves a rose!!!)

All of the above comments about Mark (and his son Dan, who now works with him) are right-on! Honesty, integrity, and down-home wisdom dwell in this shop. Do NOT go to any other shop in Susanville... many are dishonest, others imcompetent, several are rude.... but Kurt's Works is the best-- and only-- place to take your car. Also, since his son Dan graduated from automotive school a year and a half ago, they have the combined knowledge of modern vehicles (Dan) and old cars (Mark). Also, Mark's 20 years of experience help him to diagnose problems that other shops are helpless-- or less than honest-- to solve (example: the Redding Subaru dealer said: "new mass air sensor"... Mark said, "No, it's just an error code, meaning undiagnosed problem." Solution: I tightened the gas cap, and no more "check engine" light... Duh! But the dealer would have charged me $400 for my stupidity!) :-)####
