Monty rescued me personally (he has AAA towing service) when Cecily (my MG) died, bottom of freeway off ramp, very busy intersection, 9 am, in LA traffic!!!! Thought it sounded like the alternator, tested and tested and decided it was just the battery. Since then he has frequently fixed my car, if I want an oil change all I get is an oil change, unless he finds something else that needs doing, or warns me we need to keep an eye on something that will need doing. Since my husband died I spent a fortune I didn't have, because I thought I had to take Cecily to a British mechanic, who could always find something to do........ I was paying either $300 or $600 every time I went there, even for an oil change -- last time I needed a smog certificate and oil change they carged me $400+ with a long list of things they said I needed to do -- Monty checked Cecily and told me to do nothing.......... One time he put in a battery for free, he is a complete treasure and so decent and honest. A friend of mine, had a rebuilt transmission from Monty some months ago, she drove 800 miles for Thanksgiving and the transmission went out, she called Monty, he sent a flat bed truck and brought her, her dog, car and luggage home, fixed the transmission and has not charged her...........He is a Godsend to us single women, I recommend him to everyone I know, amazing how few people pay attention. I LOVE my MG, she is a unique British car (being British I can say this) in that she has never lost a drop of oil between oil changes, until now, for 20 years we never had to top up the oil, she still has the original soft top, a little worn now and she needs lots of cosmetic work and one day I will find a bag of money on the doorstep and be able to do that!!! But she has been a good work horse since my husband died and I couldn't afford to have more than one car and my DREAM car is a Morgan -- +8, BRG, tan leather seats, with 2 golden retrievers and my name on the chassis -- one day. How come you never replied to my friend who wrote inviting you to check his brother's land speed record attempt (and success) a few years ago, when he went through the sound barrier, on the ground, in the Black Rock Desert??? You missed a great party -- we might forgive you and invite to one of the reunion parties -- they are always great fun. He first got the land speed record in 1983, when he beat Breedlove's record and has held it ever since. Gives new meaning to "don't drive like my brother!!!" 750mph, I so wanted to drive that 'car'......

We discovered Monty's just after we moved here in 2000. When the wrecker arrived the driver was knowageable enough to know that it was the starter and that if we pushed it out (which had to be done anyway so the wrecker could reach it) the starter might unjam (my terminology). The car started and we drove it to Monty's willing to give them a try. Haven't taken this car to anyone else since. They have recently worked through a puzzling problem with the air conditioner with patience and dilligence. Hooray for Monty's!

Monty's, now under the excellent direction of David, retains the integrity, honesty, decency and respect which I have come to expect and rely on over many years of experience with these wonderful people. Anyone can go there and have confidence they will have the best possible work and care for their vehicles and consideration and help. In a world where many have come to believe that doubt and suspicion of anyone in a field they do not know and understand is the norm, David and all at Monty's are a refreshingly honest, decent and reliable difference -- if you live anywhere in the vicinity of this repair shop and have not had this kind of experience then TRY MONTY'S -- you truly will be delighted and thrilled that the world still contains such wonderful people, we are blessed to connect with, we should all aspire to this level of integrity, honesty and decency and the world would be a better place.
