I love my mechanic. Tom is the owner/mechanic and his wife, Joanne works with him. I trust them completely. I first started going to them years ago, referred by the place that sold me my used Subaru. I can phone from the side of the road if my car breaks down and they'll tell me what to do. My alternator failed recently and they came to my house the same evening with a tow truck and a loaner car for me. I had Triple A but the shop was over the 6 mile tow limit so they wanted to save me $ so came themselves. Amazing. I bought a first car for my teenager from them ($1500) and feel completely taken care of when it comes to cars.

With the help of Car Talk's Mechanics Files, we were lucky enough to find our way to Joann and Tom Tilletts after 'blowing' the engine on a 2002 Subaru. They spent a great deal of time searching for a used engine; eventually buying the vehicle 'as is' for a very fair price. My impression is that these folks - daughter works in the business too - are simply good, fair people. I wish we lived close enough to rely on them for service 100% of the time. Incidentally, in addition to being a first rate shop, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase a vehicle here - seems to be inventory in all price ranges.
