Elliot runs a garage of the highest grade and hires a staff of staggering qualifications. He loves and respects VWs. His BMW mechanic used to build beamers in Germany. He explains the work that needs to be done without flooding you with details and will tell you what work is just a good idea. He won't ramp up the price by doing work that doesn't need to be done. What's more, he doesn't need to because his reputation is so good he has all the work he wants. He'll quote the right price and almost always gets it right. Elliot is the fairest mechanic I've ever had. (When I can't use him, I'll call so I can compare his price to another mechanic's. If the new mechanic is off by too much, he's gone.) My 16 year-old sister loves him, my mother trusts him, my father respects him and I am aways thankful for the priority he gives his customers. If you have a VW or other German import, you should consider making Elliot your mechanic. ...Even if you live outside Marin county.

I took my '67 VW to other mechanics and it just didn't go right. Then I found Elliot and have been taking my car to him ever since. He knows it so well and always gives me the heads up about what work I should consider getting done in the future. He explains everything and my car runs great!

Elliot took over working on my cars when my previous mechanic died. My brother made the referral, and I took the van to his shop for service. He cleaned up a bunch of lousy work that my previous mechanic had done, and now the van runs great. He also has done wonderful things for my 1989 S10 Blazer, and now cares for my wife's 2008 Aveo5. Elliot keeps track of our cars and is happy to find a solution to some strange troubles.

Elliott has worked on three or four of our cars over the years and his work is good, his prices are always very reasonable and he is as honest as they come. He helped me once by reviewing a car I was thinking of buying and advised me not to - a good service. He never inflates the price of the work he does and the only time something he did was not perfect, he re-did the work at no charge. He can work on most kinds of imported cars but also works on American cars. His specialty is VW, especially vintage VWs, but he's good with other European and Japanese cars, too. He has been in business for 30+ years and, additionally, is a nice guy. He has one mechanic working with him in his tiny shop; that guy is good, too.

I think Elliot is honest, tries to manage costs, is conscientious and explains the problem(s) and solution(s). He's a bit of a character, but he's kind and honest and works with you to get the car fixed.
