Target Auto

Ron is the owner and a great guy. He offers fair prices and solid, reliable work. My roommate recommended his shop to me and I've been satisfied with all their repairs. One time Ron personally drove me to the train station to help me get to work.

The shop is pretty non-descript with a sign that looks like it says Target Al instead of Target Auto. The manager, Eric is friendly and professional. They charged $35 to diagnosis the problem. When I got the bill, he explained everything to me. Would definitely use them again... a nice neighborhood shop.

They're great guys - a family who's been around forever. When I had a problem with an engine light after they'd checked everything else, they looked again with no hassle, and called me up a few weeks later to make sure that everything was going well. Very easy to talk to (I write as a young woman), very good at explaining problems (to someone who knows way to little), and so much cheaper than everything north of market too.

This place was a lifesaver! I got bad advice from another mechanic in the Rockies, but Ron diagnosed the problem correctly over the phone thus saving me close to a thousand dollars. He spent a long time explaining my options in depth and even gave me pointers on what to ask for if I chose a different mechanic. After the fix he showed me my old parts which had been replaced. This is a very friendly place with highly competent service in my experience. I would definitely go here first if I have car trouble in the city again.

I've been using Target Auto to care for my vehicles for 21 years. I've always found this family-run establishment to be personable, friendly, and honest. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Initially found Target Auto via the Mechanics Files 6 years ago and couldn't be happier with the way Ron has kept my 16-year old Toyota alive since then. Major wheel alignment, brake overhaul, and tune-up have revealed a newly rejuvenated car!
