We drive old cars -- with 4 teenage drivers in the house -- 17,17,17,and 18 -- it's the most practical approach. Steve's has replaced radiators, fan motors, heater hoses, oil cooler lines, head gaskets, done tune ups, oil changes, brakes and referred us for transmissions. They have always done thr repairs rapidly and for less money than any other shop we've been to. The neat thing is that they will work on my '85 Cadillac, my husband's '87 Tercel, and the kids' '87 Prelude, '90 Suzuki, '86 Blazer and '90 Beretta. He's recently referred us for body shop work on the cadillac, suzuki, and beretta -- three of the teens apparently have problems with "dynamic visual acuity" -- they never see the other guy coming. Steve followed thru and made sure that the body shop did the work correctly and quickly. The sad part of this is that I still have to look up my dad's phone number in Miami when I want to call him -- Last week when one of my kid's wanted to give Steve's number to a friend, I realized that I didn't have to look it up.

I'VE BEEN TAKING MY CARS TO STEVE'S FOR OVER 10 YEARS. I REFER ALL MY FEMALE, CAR IGNORANT FRIENDS TO THE SHOP BECAUSE STEVE HAS NEVER BEEN CONDESCENDING AND WHAT'S MORE, HE'S ALWAYS HONEST. HE'S REPLACED ALTERNATORS 3 TIME (TWICE WITHOUT CHARGING ME) ON A GEO WITH A PROBLEM.HE'LL INVESTIGATE A PROBLEM AND WORK ON IT UNTIL IT'S FIXED. HE'LL TELL YOU WHEN THE TIRE PLACE WAS ALL WET ABOUT YOUR BRAKES. HE'S A GENTLEMAN OF INTEGRITY.

Steve performed a mircle when he got my Hyundai to pass the smog test. I since rid myself of the Hyundai and bought a Ford F-150 and I always take it to Steve for routine maintance.

I've been taking my car to Steve's for about 10 yrs and
they've always done a good job. I've never felt like I was
being ripped off (unlike the previous place I took my car
to). They're always very busy and most of the customers
seem to be from the neighborhood. Mike, the Northidge
shop's manager, seems to have a friendly rapport with
everyone. Although I don't come into his shop too often
(maybe 3 or 4 times per year -- the usual maintenance
stuff), he knows my name.

As good as it gets. I moved to Southern California as a
car-idiot New Yorker and immediately got ripped off by a
quick lube shop and then an AAA "certified" shop. I was
referred to Steve's and have since sent at least 10 friends
there. Our comments are unanimous; Mike runs an honest,
friendly, and above all highly skilled outfit. His prices
are under market, and on more than one occasion, they've
either done work free or told me not to bother fixing
something on older cars. This planet would be a better
place to live if all businesses operated the way Steve's
does. One caveat; the guys there prefer steaks to brownies!
