This is the place that does most of the work on my 97 Jetta. The service reps are really nice and always explain what they're going to have done. I've never had to go back a second time for the same problem. The main complaint I have with this dealership is that I always have to wait over a week for an appointment. This is usually acceptable for maintenence items, but it sucks when I don't want to drive the car in the meantime. For example, I once had a transmission leak (caused by driving over a dip in the road too fast). I didn't want to drive with low transmission fluid, and the soonest they would see me was in 2 weeks. I took the car to another mechanic instead and went through 2 iterations of them not fixing the problem over the course of a week before I decided to make the appointment with City VW. After 3 weeks of not using my car, the day of my appointment came and they fixed the problem. (It turns out the other mechanic changed the gasket and the drain pan, but left some pieces out when they put it back together). The shuttle service is nice. Sometimes you get a limo ride, other times it's a VW. There's usually a lot of people using it so it can take a while to get where you're going. If anyone from City VW reads this, get your appointment time down! My wife can get her damned toyota fixed the next day; why do I have to wait 2 weeks to get my VW looked at? If business is so strong, invest some of the profit in hiring more mechanics and putting in more service bays!

I've been going there for 6 years with my VW Passat. I keep going back because they know what they are doing and do good work. I was in an accident a few years ago, and had major damage to the front end of the car. (Fortunately no damage to me. This is a really safe car.) Their body shop put it back together, and the mechanics fixed the engine, and I believe it looked and drove better than when it was new. They took longer than I thought they should, but it was worth it. The service rep (Don) always takes care of me, and explains what they need to do.

I have stopped taking my Eurovan to City VW. They were unable to find a bad ignition switch until it completely failed. The last time I had the car in their shop, I was told that one back brake pad was 90 percent worn out. Later inspection showed that no brake pad was more than 50 percent worn.
