Wolfgang used to own/operate his own shop. His son-in-law (also a mechanic) now operates it after Wolfgang retired. He "pops in" on occasion. Very courteous, knowledgable, fair with his rates. Does not suggest to replace products/parts that don't yet need to be replaced. Gives his honest opinion as to how long a part may last. He will stay open late if he knows you are coming in to pick up your car, but might be stuck in traffic. He has a full crew working every day, so there is never a "slow time" to just drop in, but he will have someone stop what they are doing to come have a "look see" just because your car has had a funny noise all the way to work that day. Usually it is an easy fix, which they will do while you wait. I have been taking my V.W. to him for 10 yrs. and trust his judgement in all aspects of repair. We told him we were interested in keeping the old Fox running, even to replace the engine. Some mechanics could have been planning their trip to the Bahamas with that clue, but this guy just said, you've probably got 100 K. left on this motor. Nice feeling. He saved my engine when I put water in the crankcase, and replaced the wire bundle when it burned up to the fuse block. Could have been very costly. They couldn't help me get the smell out of the car, but it runs well, so who cares. This car has aprox. 145 K. right now, and he knows that the future repairs will come to him.

Mike is a no BS mechanic, who looks after your car as if it
was his own. He will also tell you if you don't need to
bother spending your money on something (which is rare in
SoCal!) He is the only place that we have brought our VW
(Golf/Jetta) and Toyota Landcruiser.

Mike and his crew has helped us out in some tough
situations. They have worked on my husbands vehicles and my
daughter's Honda. I called them about my mom's Chevy and
Mike said they don't work on American models but he
recommended a shop near my parent's house. The other shop
treated my mom just as good as Mike treats us. This is an
honest shop. We will always send our foreign cars to
Wolfe's.

Mike and his team do amazing work. In addition to what
others have said, Mike will also give you car advice. He'll
let you know if he thinks it's a good idea to move on to
another car before your current one costs more to repair
than it's worth. Unlike with other mechanics, I actually
look forward to visiting Wolf's Foreign Car Service. Mike
is approachable, remembers me and my car, and has a dry
sense of humor to make car repairs bearable. And there is
usually a bowl of candy at the counter.

Based upon recommendations from this site, I started going to Wolfes in the last
year. Both my wife and I have been very pleased with the experience. His prices
are fair and he is very good about communicating status. But the most
impressive thing occurred on our last visit when we had an oil leak that was not
fixed on the first try. Mike and his team spent a lot of time resolving the
problem and did not charge us a dime. Mike said it was their error. This has
never happened to me and has made me a loyal customer and a good reference.

Mike Senn, the owner, is honest, friendly, and
communicative. I have recommended may people to him and
they all continue to go there. (Note that one can be a
little hesitant to recommend a mechanic since the person
you send may have a bad experience.) Not one has
complained and they keep recommending others, so it's
become sort of a circle of friends. Mike will give honest
advice on repairs or maintenance he feels is unnecessary
or not cost efficient. When my daughter was at college in
her old Volvo he diagnosed the problem remotely during a
phone conversation with me. He told me what part she
should buy and how and where to install it. She bought the
part, installed it and the problem was fixed. (It was the
electronic control module, which in an 84 Volvo is easily
accessible under the passenger side foot panel.) HIghly

I had a leaky oil pan plug and had went around to all the
other Volkswagen servicers. They told me I would have to
replace my entire oil pan. I asked if they could just fix
the stripped threads on the plug and everyone told me they
couldn't. I found Wolf's through this website and gave
them a call. Mike was very helpful and friendly. He told
me he could replace/fix my problem with a helix coil and
it was much cheaper than a new oil pan. While most of
the "bigger" car repair servicers try to take you for
everything, it is good to know that there are still honest
mechanics around that aren't trying to rip you off.
