I only went to Duncan's twice but got good service worth mentioning. I usually use another mechanic but I needed tires and Duncan's is a tire shop, my other place isn't. I dropped off my truck one morning and asked for two new tires on the back and rotate the back ones to the front. I expected to get it back before lunch. When I hadn't heard back by mid-afternoon I called to find out what was wrong. The had some trouble rotating the tires, the front right wheel wouldn't go on the hub! Evidently, the previous owner of my car replaced the rotor with a bad part the wheel hub was 0.017" too large. That is a very small amount but it's enough that the wheel won't go on. Rather than get the right part, that unscrupulous home mechanic modified the wheel to make it fit. I appreciate that Duncan's took a considerable amount of time to figure all this out for me, at no extra charge of course. Now I know that I have to replace that wheel next time I change the rotor. I would go back to Duncan's again. They play a funny game with their labor, advertising a high rate, but dropping it to normal if you bring back one of their discount pens. I found that gimic a little off-putting but they seem to take the rest of their business seriously so I wouldn't worry about it.

I have been using Duncan's for a few years now. I have always been happy with their service. I like that Charlie gets his hands dirty (unlike the 'coordinators' at the dealer). They do put out a lot of different coupons, but all you have to do is ask for the coupon price. As a regular customer, Charlie always just uses the coupon price for me. I do just about everything with them, from oil changes, to new tires to involved engine service. One thing I really appreciate is that they will fix what needs to be fixed and not what doesn't need to be fixed. When our Windstar was almost stalling at red lights, Charlie cited the advisory from Ford that addressed this problem, then recommended, from his experience, that only part of the work would fix the problem, saving me quite a bit of money (and taking care of the problem). Though I have never taken them up on it, they always offer me a ride (I usually just ride my bike). All in all, I have been much happier working with Duncan's than I ever was working with the dealer.
