Trust. I believe this is the most important quality in a mechanic. Jeremy Lamberson, the owner of Main Street Auto Repair, is the most trustworthy mechanic I've ever met. I have taken my 1994 Subaru Loyale (which I bought used) to mechanics in four different states and Jeremy is the best at his craft. I'm convinced that small shops that specialize in a certain make of car is the smartest way to go. Jeremy specializes in Subarus (although he is great at other cars as well, foreign and domestic). The best example is that he spotted a hill holder system that had never been adjusted on my Loyale as long as I had owned it. It's found on no other manufacturers of modern cars and all other mechanics had missed it. He adjusted this as well as doing regular oil changes, brake work, electrical work, clutch work, and various other things on my car. Jeremy takes the time to explain what is wrong with your car in terms a layperson can understand. He won't try to blind you with technical mechanicspeak or find imaginery problems to jack up your bill, like some mechanics seem to enjoy doing. I believe in preventative maintenance and he also takes the time to thoroughly go over your car to catch the little problems before they become big ones. Another important aspect (and don't tell him I mentioned it), is that if anything he undercharges for his work. If you value integrity and hardwork in people than you should take a trip to his shop the next time you have car trouble. Just past downtown and up a little hill, it's like a find of modern day gold in Placerville!

Owner/operator Jeremy Lamberson has worked on 3 of my older cars in the last 8 months: a 95 Nissan Quest, a 93 Toyota Corolla and a 99 Chevy Prizm. He has always done an excellent job. He is very thorough and willing to explain all repairs. He diagnosed and fixed a particularly difficult-to-find electrical problem in my Nissan Quest's ignition system. Although he spent alot of time researching the electrical system on this van, he only charged for the actual hands-on labor time. He is a very honest, very competent technician. I highly recommend his shop.

After scores of mechanics stringing me along, inventing costly "hypotheses" about my car problems (at my expense) and leaving the problem still unaddressed, Jeremy is a rare jewel. If he knows what to do, he does it, and at a fair price. (Almost unheard of in my experience) If he doesn't know, he says so and finds out...try to find another mechanic who will admit he's not sure how to solve the problem! Usually, they'll try "whatever" for the immediate gain, if not for the return business. He's smart, funny, and treats me(a 65-year old woman) with respect. I am so grateful to have found him, and also that there is a way to sing his praises. He is automotive nobility.

I TRUST Jeremy Lamberson! As a single female, my antennae is alert to the BS and vague chatter that can come from some car guys. I get full, clear explanations at Main Street. I get answers to my questions that make sense. AND I get options when that is appropriate. I do a lot of road trips alone and always get a pre-trip check up to keep me off the side of the road. Jeremy may be honest to a fault.

They work on a lot of Subarus here. I think it is their specialty, I think they do all makes now. They are very nice, do great work and fast, too. I took my car here once and they did one of the axle joints in a few hours, same day as I came in.
