I found Karen through a friend. She has always dealt with me on a professional, yet interested basis and always makes the customer feel welcome. She is honest in saying she is not the cheapest place in town, but she does good work and is always the first person I call when catastrophe strikes. My car has not needed lots of repairs, but recently I had a problem that I couldn't diagnose, and neither could she immediately. But I had my car back quickly and properly repaired (withing 24 hours.) She has also explained how I could do some of the minor repairs myself, so as to save time and money. Further, she teaches a self-maintenence class (aimed at women, but open to all) one weekend a month.

Karen is great, and very honest. I'm not sure I'd trust her mechanics for difficult or out of the ordinary jobs, but it's a great place for basic repairs, routine maintenance etc.. If you don't know a lot about cars and/or you're worried about getting ripped-off this is a great place to go. Karen will patiently explain everything to you, and won't take advantage of your ignorance.

Karen's very agreeable and always goes out of her way to make her female customers feel comfortable. She DEFINITELY never tries to overfix your car or pad the bill. I've seen her talk people OUT OF getting things repaired! I took 2 used cars I was thinking of buying to her shop for a quickie inspection. First car, before even putting it up on the lift, she spotted a fatal flaw I had missed. Saved me a lot of grief. Second car, one of her mechanics inspected. Rightly pointed out some things that needed to be fixed but also recommended a bunch of stuff be fixed that in reality was completely fine. I don't think he was being dishonest, just banging out the job quickly for a mere $40 or $50. Still worth the money. I always recommend her shop. WAY better than Pep Boys ("Rip Boys") where they'll try to sell you everything under the moon if you let them near your car!
