I had transmission trouble and didn't know where to turn!
So, I came to CarTalk.com and found Trans. Auto listed, so
I called. The other person who wrote about Trans. Auto was
right. They offered me a super-low price to rebuild my
transmission and were very friendly, nice people. The place
is a family business. They even gave me a ride home when I
had to leave my car. The owner's English isn't so good, but
his repair work is. His daughter works there too and she
speaks English just fine. It's been about a month now and
everything's running well, but I'm not worried. He gave me
a 1 year, 12,000 mile warrenty on the work just in case. I
would totally use them again!

I had a transmission problem when I visted my father in Los Angeles, and he suggested going to Trans Auto because they fix transmissions for dealers. Daesik who is the owner was great, although his English was limited. He is Korean. The price to fix my transmission was about 25% lower than anyone else who quoted me for the same work. He was able to get the job done in one day, although he didn't have a car for me to borrow. It's a great little shop and I'm glad to have found it. I also found out that he used to work at one of the Korean car manufacturers working on tranmissions when he lived in Korea, and since he's immigrated to the US, he's been building his business. But it seems his limited English makes a little difficult for him to communicate - but hey, he knew the problem in my car, fixed it on time, at an amazing price. It totally made my trip to LA better.
