The power steering on my 1999 Volvo V70 wagon went kaput. Called the local shop and the dealer, who both agreed, under the best possible scenario, the cost would be $260.00. Since I wasn't overly fond of either of these places, I decided to check the Car Talk website and called Tord at Two Guys From Sweden. The car was fixed the day I brought it in, and Tord took it upon himself to fix my broken headlight connection. The cost? $85.00. These guys are incredible. I've given everyone I can think of with a Swedish car their number.

Robert is the most competent mechanic I have ever dealt with. Every repair we have made to the SAAB has been right the first time. Any questions I had were always answered in a clear way without trying to make me feel stupid. He gives cars a real test drive after repairs to make sure the car is safe. He is honest about labor and parts rates. This shop is the kind of shop that makes you want to keep your car. I have to say that Two Guys from Sweden is the best reason to own a Saab or Volvo.

Robert is simply the BEST mechanic I have ever had. I first brought (by that I mean towed in to) him my 1993 Saab 900 S for repairs 3 years ago. I. The damn thing wouldn't start and I had had it! A neighbor recommended him to me. I had just had knee surgery and was on crutches, and was with my mother! By all known mechanics standards, I was begging to be eaten alive. I was sure it would cost at least $800. Robert replaced a small, cheap part on my car and arranged for a rental while we were waiting for it to be delivered (it was Thursday afternoon). I had never paid less than $400 for repairs on this car before, but it was just under $150. Since then Robert has been my only mechanic. The car is running better now with 160K miles on it than it did at 50K when I bought it. I used to hate the car and say a small prayer ("please, any diety listening, let the car start') every time I got in the car. Now I love it and wouldn't dream of replacing it. In fact, I am avoiding getting a new car, because I only want Robert to work on my cars from now on.

Both Robert and Tord are the kindest, fairest mechanics I have ever met. It is such a pleasure to know that I won't get ripped off and that my car will be fixed correctly the first time. This is truly a class act. Pretty rare these days. A+++ -Joseph

We moved away from California last year and one of the things I regret most is losing my mechanic. Robert's the SAAB guy and we brought our car (1999 9-5) there for little oil changes to more major :( repairs. I always felt confident I was treated fairly and his/their honesty was never in question. On at least one occasion, Robert drove me back to my apartment when I dropped the car off (25 min away). I even called him for advice one time after moving. We'll miss you Robert!

Took my 11-year-old Volvo in for brake work, picked it up that night... much sooner than expected. On the way home a dog ran out in front of me. Thanks to Robert's good work, the dog's OK and I'm OK.

Tord and Robert might be the nicest guys I've ever met. I usually deal with Robert as he's the Saab specialist. Tord seems to do the Volvos. Robert always takes the time to show me what's going on, explain things in detail and in different ways until there is no way I couldn't understand. He will show me the old and new parts, give me fair estimates, drive with me around the block to listen to strange noises (in my car), and he won't do any work he doesn't think is unnecessary. I've never felt they were trying to get money out of me. They are fair, reliable, competent, factory-trained Swedish specialists and I highly recommend them.
