There have been several times when they could have charged me a fortune to fix what I thought was a major problem, but turned out to be a minor fix. They are extremely honest and reliable. All of the mechanics have worked for dealers in the past. AWESOME!

My first visit. I found the shop on this web site, and it had only one review, but it was very positive. In parallel, I called a fellow Honda/Accura owner, a friend, and asked for their recommendation and it was the same one. So I tried them. Very professional. I'm pleased and taking the time to put that here.

They are courteous and always try to squeeze your repair in. They once made an error on the installation of a timing belt, which resulted in engine damage. However, they retrieved the car (which was a couple of hundred miles from home) provided a loaner car for the duration of the repair and returned the Acura in completely renovated condition. It has been running perfectly since.

I really like The Honda/Acura Service Outlet. Over the
years, they have expanded to other Japanese cars (Lexus,
Toyota).
I've always found them to be reliable and have never felt
like I was being mislead or told that I needed something
extra done. For instance, I have 160k miles on my 96
Integra, but I am still running on my stock brake pads.
Brian (the service manager) could have easily taken me for
my money on the brakes, but have reassured me that the pads
are still loaded. Even after I reminded him that I have
160k on the car he says, "Your brakes are still good!"
Love that!
Brian the service manager seems to remember repeat
customers by name, and doesn't hesistate to explain
anything.
I've never needed them to do any sort of major diagnostic
work (knock on wood!), but for everything else, I've taken
my car there...regular maintenance, oil changes, had a
radiator replaced twice (second time parts where covered
under lifetime warranty, paid only for labor).
They supposedly use only Honda parts, but I've never asked
to see any proof.
They are a great service and will even drop you off
anywhere within about 5 miles? No matter, I just get
dropped off at BART.

GREAT shop always fair and honest. Could have done extra
work a couple of times that was not necessary but only do
what is needed. Really nice people. I drive from Antioch
to Lafayette for their service!

I have taken my 1995 Acura (with 48,000 original miles) for
12 years and they have done nothing but the best and honest.
I have had routine maintenance, as well as extra services
(transmission broke) and they have fixed it all, same day,
and just do it and are done. They just call and say 'car is
all set, nothing wrong with it'

Love, LOVE, *LOVE* the Service Outlet! My family (father, mother, siblings,
husband, etc.) have been taking our cars to Brian (the service manager) for
years. Brian and his crew, are honest, reliable, hard-working,... I could go on
and on. As a result, we almost all drive Honda's/Acura's. I won't even consider
owning another make of a car, because I don't want to lose out on such a great
shop. Each time I bring my car in for regularly scheduled maintenance,
everything is tuned up/fixed without incident or further problems. Plus, it
seems that I see the same mechanics there each time which provides me
peace of mind - I know there's a pretty low turnover rate for mechanics and
that speaks volumes.
Numerous times, Brian has helped me avoid charges that are not immediate.
For example, the automatic lock on the passenger door no longer works. The
motor function works (I can hear a 'grinding' noise) but won't lock. I brought
this to Brian's attention, and he told me that if I didn't mind reaching over and
locking/unlocking the door, there was no need to replace it. He explained
that while it was pretty cheap for the part, it would cost a couple hundred to
crack open the door. Knowing I don't have a lot of extra cash, he suggested
waiting until I was ready to sell/trade it so I wouldn't lose on value! How many
shops do you know would encourage you to NOT have work done? Loyalty
means more here than just squeezing a few extra bucks out of customers.
Brian always explains everything clearly and doesn't hold back on his
assessment of the necessary repairs. He's all business, not a real shmoozer or
chatty guy - he actually comes across kind of curt sometimes, so when he
asks how my folks, husband, etc. (by name) is doing, I know he really is
concerned. He's always super patient with my mom (not an easy feat), so he
wins points there too.
If you are looking for great mechanics and wonderful costumer service, the
Service Outlet in Lafayette is your best bet!
