I have been using Jim's for about 20 years for a variety of vehicles, starting with a ‘72 Volkswagen and progressing through a ‘84 Volvo and a '93 Explorer. He and his staff have always treated me and my cars with respect and they have always fixed the car right the first time. When I sold one of my cars, I suggested the buyer take it to Jim's for a mechanic review. He looked at the car for the buyer and did not charge her for the time. I consider him an honest person that wants his customers to feel good about coming to him when there is a problem.

I found Jim's Automotive originally through a local consumer business recommendation organization and couldn't be happier with the work they've done on our cars over the past ten years or so. What I appreciate most about the shop is Jim's honesty and his willingness to suggest other shops for specialty work he donsn't have the time or inclination to deal with. Overall, I find Jim's work to be superior, his prices reasonable, and his willingness to extend himself for his customers exceptional.

I have been going to Jim for over ten years - he and his mechanics have always been honest, fair, and good natured. As a woman, I particularly appreciate his direct approach, which is to explain what I clearly don't understand, but to do so in a direct and non-patronizing manner. On one occasion they fixed something but it turned out not to be the primary problem. They fixed the primary problem and didn't charge labor, as he felt they should have diagnosed it correctly the first time. Jim has made several minor repairs with little or no charge, because ss he has told me on several occasions, "don't worry, I'll get your money"; recognizing that, as a return customer with an aging car, he would have plenty of opportunities to earn his living. I couldn't recommend him higher.

The best. Started going when I had an old VW Bus, but continued after I moved on to an Oldsmobile Regency, and now a Toyota Tacoma. I've recommended him to a few people, now those people won't go anywhere else. Such a great place that when you pass another customer they tell you their story and how long they've been coming to Jim. The neighborhood is safe & along a busy street, about a block from a Starbux and other food, so you can kill time there.

Jim has always been extremely competent with his repairs and fair with his billings. He will not fix items that do not need fixing and will tell you so. Our family has owned many cars, and we all take our cars to him. Every visit to his shop ends with a thank you.

Called because my check engine light came on and tightening/checking gas cap did not fix the problem. Other shops would have charged to check the error code, but Jim said he'd do it for free. Told me it was the O-2 sensor and it would be about two hours to replace. No problem because there are shops & restaurants nearby. Even had time to get a haircut! Returned and car was still on the lift. The parts delivery person sent the wrong part. They were very apologetic. But after about an hour's wait, the part arrived, Jim put it in and everything worked fine. Definitely would recommend Jim's Auto repair. They are on Mission Blvd. across from Moreau High.
