When dealing with auto mechanics, the female owner of an ancient Camry is generally a helpless sheep waiting to be fleeced. Thanks to Rene at Precision Auto Repair, I no longer have to call upon my dad or my brothers to do battle with the car repair wolves. This mechanic not only explains what is wrong with the car, and what needs to be done, he opens the hood and shows me. He saves the old parts without being asked, and explains what was wrong with each of them when I pick the car up. He also advises me of any maintenance or repairs that may need to be done in the future, and the time frame that I have to get those things taken care of. The shop has done everything from brakes to transmission work for me. I've only had to take the car back once for a particularly nebulous problem getting it to start. It was taken care of immediately, no hassle, no attitude. There is an MTA bus stop across the street. They are also close to an Enterprise Rent-A-Car that will cheerfully pick you up. (I believe they give a car rental discount for Precison Auto customers.) In fact, the folks at Enterprise were the ones who originally recommended this repair shop to me. For the record, the ancient Camry has traveled 228,000 miles. According to Rene, it will continue to serve me well for many years. With Precision Auto Repair caring for the car, I anticipate it will outlast my first Camry that had to be euthanized after going over 300,000 miles.
