These guys know transmissions really well; even a good bit
about the rest of the car. We took a 98 Passat to them that
literally wouldn't go anymore. Something about a burnt-out
clutch. This car has a very strange german transmission, but
the AAMCO mechanics didn't have any problems with it. And
when the rebuilt transmission revealed a slew of other
problems with the engine, the service manager, Bill, was
VERY generous with his time and his mechanics time, charging
us only for parts to replace old vacuum lines, a mass
airflow sensor, and a few other things. But then, we had
just given him several boat payments to the tune of $4,000,
so I would have been really surprised if he had not been so
nice.
Overall, great work, honest and trustworthy, but expensive.
