When the engine on my girlfriend's Ford Escort failed completely, the unpalatable option would have been to have a long block installed for about $2,600. David discussed other options with us and we decided to go with a good, used engine if one could be found. David located one at a local dealership that had been involved in a rear-end col- lision and which had about half the mileage of the old en- gine. He installed it for $1,300 and change, and it runs like a little powerhouse. Excellent work by a competent and honest mechanic.
