Metro Garage is a owner/operator mechanic -- he is
thoughtful and recomnds what he thinks is the best option
for the repair-maintence. He gets creative for low income
folks. He also teaches a great AP High School History Course.
Through his mechanic work he and his family have become
great freinds.

These folks always go the extra mile when they can. Once
my son's car engine caught fire enroute to school. Instead
of making the simple but time consuming and expensive
repairs, Metro Garage owner told my son what wires and
parts to buy, invited him to the shop on a Saturday,
showed him how to replace the wires, was available all day
for questions, inspected his work, and didn't charge him a
dime!

Steve is an excellent mechanic, but humble enough to admit
if something is over his head. Like many mechanics in
Fairbanks he is most familiar with Toyotas and Subarus (as
80% of people in Fairbanks drive those makes), but he was
totally willing to work on my Saab. He always lets me know
exactly what is wrong, and if there is a way to save me
money he will make that suggestion. He always speaks to me
personally, and listens to what I have to say about the
problem that I am having, and treats me no differently
because I am a woman. He sometimes manages to get work
done in a very timely manner, even though he is the only
mechanic. Definately the most trustworthy mechanic that I
have encountered, not to mention an interesting guy.
