I have some mechanical experience, I just don't have the time as I once did. I don't know everything and I want straight answers or direction. I haven't the money to throw at a problem, as I have witnessed of others' troubles. This is a small and busy shop, so I don't expect 'while-you- wait' service. When I bought the car, used, the seller said that the occasional ticking amidships was probably something in the exhaust system. That, I can fix- OK. (over-confidence diminishing vision) As it acquired an rpm-specific vibration, I left it with Bryce who looked into it and later showed me the flex plate- fractured nearly 330 degrees around the hub. The estimated price was about half of what I had expected, the vibration was gone- I'm happy. Nowadays, anyone who attempts to discuss the problem, be they mechanics or doctors, males or females are likely to be met with condescension. I thoroughly appreciate being able to discuss the matter succinctly and not feel like I'm being skinned. On each of several occasions, I have learned that I can go to this shop (some 55 miles away) for fair and decent trade, with good humor. Thanks.
