WOW! I am impressed. My 95 Toyota T100 was turning on the brake warning light during normal driving, which turns off the cruise control. The Toyota dealer said it was a feature of the system that indicates the brake pads are worn and need replacing. Understandable, considering 101k on the original pads and shoes. Well, I took the truck to CarX because the quoted price was competitive and Mark, the manager, was friendly and helpful when I was calling around for quotes. I would have gladly paid the quoted price and then some to get the job done (I was leaving in three days on vacation). Their technician, Tom calls a few hours later and tells me the brakes are fine, and have thousands of miles left on them and the only thing "wrong" was the fluid level in the reservior was a little low and the sensor that weighs the fluid was tripping the brake light circuit. He topped off the fluid, pumped the brakes a few times and voila, the problem is gone. They did the inspection, diagnosis and fluid addition and did not charge me a dime. I'm still in shock. I have already told several people at work (and five more here) that CarX at 5320 Washington Ave in Racine is the place to take your vehicle.
