There shop used to be about six blocks from my house. First time I went there, I had a blown head gasket on a Dodge Neon. Gary, the owner, called me after looking at the vehicle and we had this conversation: GARY: Here's the deal. Your head gasket needs to be replaced. ME: Yikes, that sounds expensive! GARY: Yeah, about $1200. ME: Ouch. GARY: I hope you don't mind, I took the liberty to call Dodge. Your extended warranty expired six months. I talked with someone I know and he agreed to cover it if you pay a $200 deductible. ME: That's great. When can you start? GARY: You'll have to take it to a Dodge dealer. ME: Huh? What do you get out of this? GARY: Well maybe you'll come back here next time. GARY WAS RIGHT. I'm at the point where I drop off my car the night before, leave him my credit card number and tell him just to do what ever needs to be done. I trust Gary and his son, John to do what is best. I have many other great stories. Here's the kicker. Some real estate developer came and snatched up the land that included his shop and some others. Turned it into a bank and retail space. Gary moved to a town about 20 minutes from my house. Not all that convenient to customers of his old neighborhood. Their solution? They'll pick up and drop off your car! I think that gesture is great but you know what? I've never taken advantage of it. I go out of my way to get my car to the shop because they are the best!! Check them out at imagecarcare.net.
