Jeff, my mechanic, is very honest. In first visit with them, I had transmission a problem. I am somewhat knowledgeable with cars, and with what the car was doing, my fear was that I would need a new/rebuilt transmission. Jeff, instead of selling me a transmission, gave me a bottle liquid to expand the gaskets and make them more pliable I believe. The bottle that he put in the transmission fixed my problem and I drove the car for another 15,000 miles before I sold it. I asked him why he did this and did not try to sell me a transmission and he said "I have so much work that needs to get done that I do not have to fabricate work. At that time he became my mechanic and he has been very fair and honest with me ever since.

These guys are great! I've been in a few times, and they have always been very honest. Once, I had a rattle in the engine, and they ended up just tightening a bolt down and not even charging me. The second time my girlfriend had just crashed her car because of bad brakes, so I brought my car in and told them I was woried that mine were acting up. They checked them out and said they were actually just fine (still working fine 5k later, and again, no charge). Either time they could have easily made something up.

They fixed an ac problem three times in six weeks and one charged me the first time as they felt the connectors (whatever they're called) kept causing the problem. Another time I had a strange problem with a front wheel that they didn't feel I could have caused. They checked recalls and service notices, but no problems had been reported. They fixed the problem and just charged me for the other job I had brought it in for.

I, the weekend shade-tree mechanic I am, replaced a couple f belts myself but could not get them to stop squealing, particularly the power steering belt. Based on the reviews I've read and the proximity to my apartment, I decided to pay these guys a visit. When I walked in I had to wait about 5 minutes with no one at the counter. Eventually the clerk returned; she had gone to fetch a car for another waiting customer. I told her about my belts and she asked if I could wait, and I said certainly. I had made it only through a few pages of the local section of the newspaper before I heard the car squealing in the garage. Not ten minutes later I saw my car being pulled out into the parking lot, squeak-free! The mechanic told me that the alternator belt just seemed a bit loose so he adjusted it and spritzed some dressing on it. Total charge came to $10, which floored me! Honest, reliable, and fast!! I can't wait to take my car back there again for the 60,000 maintenance! I reccommend them highly.

To keep costs down, they ALWAYS suggest rebuilt, used, or junkyard parts whenever possible. And if it don't need no fixin', they leave it alone! Very honest and trustworthy. Been going there for 20 years and never got ripped off. They even found me (at a junkyard) a replacement tail light that I installed myself. No charge for the search, $10 for the tail light assembly ($125 at Zimbrick)... And Deb knows as much about cars as Paul or any of them other guys. Don't let her good looks fool ya! Tom Kobinsky

Lovely group of mechanics and Deb is much more than a receptionist. She runs the place! Everyone is honest and the prices are much less than a dealership, I've checked. We've been using them for at least 5 years. Only complaint is waiting area needs a serious renovation.

I went to this shop after reading about it on this site. They are great, and I can't imagine taking my car anywhere else. They make suggestions of what repairs are needed, but don't push. I took my car in this spring, and they told me that the brakes would need to be replaced sometime this fall or winter, but not to bring it back until they were worn out. I really appreciate that kind of honesty!
