I took my car in because of a vibrating that was happening when I accelerated, thinking that it was the possibly the transmission or the CV joints according to Haynes book. They took it for a test drive, and told me that it was not either of those, but rather the spark plug wires that needed replacing. And that could solve the entire problem, or possibly not, but in order to check CV joints/trans. properly, these would have to be changed. I then took my car home, brought in some spark plug wires that we had for our other car hoping they would fit, they tried them, and they didn't fit. They also did their "trans check 21" on the car. checking the transmission, fluid levels, etc. and told me that they were all fine and that with 133,000+ miles on the car, that the transmission was fine and didn't need replacing anytime soon. The trans check 21 is free, but the part of trying the other wires, test drive, etc., didn't cost me a penny. Changing the spark plug wires are not easy at all on this car...it requires lifting the engine up in order to get to them. They then let me take the car and change the wires myself. These guys are COMPLETELY honest and straight foward with you about everything and anything, whether it's do-able yourself, or if it really needs to be done, or if something else should be done soon, or be ready for this to happen, or if you don't do this soon, it'll make something else go bad/get worse quicker, etc. Highly reccomend for any complicated car repair/estimate, etc.
