The replaced a CV boot and axel for me. I asked that since the car was more than 16 years old (87 CRX si) - should I get the other one done as well? Their reply: "No - you don't need to - the other one is ok - and if it does go, you'll hear it, and can do it then - no point in spending money when you don't need to." Car runs great. I've also had two other friends go there - one to have an engine swapped out (no problems - happy with the work) and the other to have a new clutch added to his F150 (also very happy with their work - he actually reccommended me to them... These guys are honest - and do a good job. Give em' a try... Sean Engle Tacoma, WA

I started going to McCabe's after reading about them on your Web site. They periodically send coupons, which can save you a few bucks (if you can find the coupons when you need them). I take the car to them for oil changes, tune ups, battery installed, etc. They seem reasonably priced compared to the dealer.

The shop was within walking distance from my home which made it very convenient. Plus when I mentioned that I had my car at McCabe's for repairs my friend told me that I had made a good choice--their prices were a little higher than average but they were honest and skilled mechanics.

They do quality work. However, on a car over a few years old they always had several recommendations for additional work. If they need to phone you before working on the car to verify what to have done, they could recommend that they do everything recommended. You need to verify right then as to what is exactly needed to fix your current problem. All recommended actions ultimately would be needed, probably, but not necessarily right then. They don't offer to break down the recommended costs, so do ask them.

They may run a bit more on some things, but they're fast, flexible, unfailingly polite and trustworthy. They go out of their way to accommodate customers. Have gone to them for more than 15 years, and will continue to do so. Question to whether they respond well when they screw something up is inapplicable to me, because they have NEVER screwed anything up on my cars. It's always done correctly the first time.
