These guys, Wayne and John have a shop where you can eat off the floor it's so clean. You get your car vacuumed as a bonus. They have great toys that may explode or squawk at you when you touch them. You can count on excellent work, a fair price. MOST OF ALL IF THE JOB DOESN'T REALLY NEED TO BE DONE, OR YOUR CAR IS STILL UNDER WARRANTY, THEY WILL TELL YOU. They have a web site

Wayne, and now Mike, do excellent work at a fair price. There's always a smile for customers. They will do what NEEDS to be done and let you know your options, including work that can be done under warranty at the dealers. Swede's welding is on site, including objects d' whimsey. They have great toys (usually practical jokes). PS The city is called Spokane, not Spoakne. And I love your show even if you got the name of our fair city wr

Mike gave us invaluable advice during our search for a used car, and since then we have dealt with his shop exclusively. Friendly, honest, up front about what to expect in the short and long term. Yes, the floor of the shop is cleaner than our own. We like Mike!

I have followed Wayne one of the owners of this shop around for 20 years. He kept my 1984 VW diesel Rabbit alive for 18 years and then I let the car go into the rest home for 3 years after my neighbors shamed me into purchasing a more presentable vehicle. After the 3 year rest my son in law wanted the car because it got much better milage than his testosterone laden truck. These guys had the thing running in no time and I was able to drive it 500 miles to my kids. The SOL is delighted. I now take my "new" 1994 Ford Escort to them and the drill is the same, they keep it purring like a baby. In all the years they have been open, they have never spent a penny on advertising. I have reccommended them to many of my friends and they have all been very pleased. Mary

Wayne is great! I don't know that much about cars, but he explained everything to me before I even scheduled an appointment for my VW. (Yes, I drive a Jetta, but I'm a pretty considerate driver.) After taking the car to the dealership and two other well-known auto repair chains, I was thrilled to have Wayne service my car for far less than any of the estimates I was given. He even called and discussed the repairs with me before he started work and had it done and ready to go when he said he would. Terrific job!

We went to this shop while on the road during a Great Northwestern roadtrip. Suffice to say, we were very unnerved with our Subaru Outback's check- engine light came on and it started mysteriously running rough. We chose them because of the reviews here, being that we knew NOBODY in the Spokane area. What a great garage. It's small but comfy, especially for those who have no choice but to sit and wait for the vehicle. Lots of friends drop by and they are wonderful conversationalists. But more importantly, Wayne could have charged anything he wanted, since we were stranded 1,000 miles from home. Even though we had no appointment, he was able to fit us in and within 2 hours, he had figured out that when the last mechanic we used had put too much oil on our KNR filter and it was choking our air intake. A few shots of engine cleaner and a new filter and we were on the road for less than $30. Can you believe it? I was able to pay CASH!! I can't recommend them enough. Their location is great and if you end up going there without being able to eat, the Albertsons across the street has great corn dogs. This garage is exactly like all garages should be -- friendly, efficient, and makes you feel like you're part of the neighborhood, even if you're from two states away.

I brought in my 1976 Ford truck (because part of the engine caught on fire, and I'm no good with cars). They were able to see what was wrong right away, and fixed it in a timely manner. When I picked up my car, I was driving away when I noticed that my radio was gone. Since it was parked outside, I assumed that someone stole it. Later that day, Wayne called and apologized because he had taken out the radio, because he did not want anyone to steal it, and he forgot to give it back to me. He offered to mail it to me to save me a trip. He did just that and mailed it first class back to me. I really appreciate the extra mile that these guys went to help me. I would most definitely recommend Manito Automotive to anyone who needs a good and honest mechanic.
