My significant other took a Toyota to this garage to get a general tune up - expecting to pay like a hundred bucks maybe. The mechanics there - I forget which one it was - gave her car a once over and called to tell her that she didn't need to get a full tune-up and instead just needed a couple hoses/belts replaced and one thingie or something adjusted. The whole thing got done for like fourty bucks. Furthermore, I've dragged my '85 Buick there on more than one occasion, and they've understood that I don't want to put tons of money into this old car. They've given me repair/stop-gap options that are significantly cheaper than replacing major car parts. Once, when I was hearing a strange noise while driving, one of the the mechanics - Mike, I think it was - took the time to drive around the neighborhood with me to give it a listen with me driving. I thought that was very good service. The only thing is that they've been getting more and more popular, and during certain times of the year, it can take a week or two to get an appointment with them.

Gary is the most honest mechanic I have ever come in contact with. He will go out of his way to help a customer. I have seen him do roadside repairs, major jobs, five minute jobs and all with a smile on his face and a kind word. I truly believe him to be the all around best in the business.

Hilltop Auto has worked on my 1996 Metro for the past few years, and they've always been fantastic and fair. They take the time to explain what they've done and go over the invoice without being condescending. They're great about doing follow-up inspections, and the staff is friendly. Julie is a particularly great asset for them -- always responsive and nice.

Mike is the main guy-- I took my car for him to look at. When I came to pick it up, he told me what the problem was and recommended someone to fix it. He did not do that kind of work. When I asked him how much I owed, he said "nothing--I did not do any work". How many times does this happen these days?!

Mike bought out the station/garage from Texaco. I asked him why and he told me that Texaco wanted to put in a Mini-Mart and a Taco Bell. He wouldn't have it so he bought it out. He wanted it to remain a old school full service neighborhood type station. Mike is top-notch. He's a straight shooter, very pleasant and honest. If he can't do the work he will tell you and refer you to someone who can. He's helped me out on a couple of occasions and I've always come away completely satisfied. Hilltop harks back to the days when customer service meant something. I highly recommend them.

I was told by a KIA dealer that my brakes needed to be replaced. I was ready to do so, when I decided, after hearing about hilltop from friends, to bring my car to them. They told me my brakes were fine and that I didn't need to get them done. They were honest and that means they rock!

I own two high mileage (150k+) autos, one of which is the notoriously problematic Dodge Caravan. Mike and his mechanics have worked on both cars more than a few times. They have been extraordinarily patient and persistent in making sure to do the job right. I have a strong sense that these folks like what they do & hold themselves to a high standard. All this & they have great senses of humor. This is one place where you can go & not be intimidated if you don't know much about your car. Their prices are fair, but not cheap. But you certainly get what you pay for.

I have been taking my vehicles to Hilltop for many years and I can't recommend them highly enough. Mike, Julie, Carlos and all the other staff are friendly, helpful and accomodating. One early experience kept me coming back. I had gone to a dealership shop and had been told I needed a complete brake job, a head gasket and several other minor jobs. The estimate shocked me, so I took it to Hilltop. They checked everything out, nixed almost all the dealership jobs and saved me $1200 in one visit. I've been going back and recommeding them to everyone I know ever since.

I have been taking our family Hondas (2 '91s and 1'84)to Hilltop as long as we have owned them. This is the closest thing you will find to a "family owned" business; one that cares more about its customers than its profits. While not the cheapest, the quality of work, timeliness, and follow up are excellent. Don't tell too many people about this place. I't is the best secret for car owners in Seattle.

Each and every person I met at Hilltop Texaco expressed great interest and care in repairing my truck. While diagnosing a 4-wheel drive issue, the mechanic asked me to take him for a ride to demonstrate. Courteous and fair, Mike kept my truck for a few more days because he found some issues he felt really needed addressing on my 17 year old truck. He carefully explained every bit of work done and why, and made two followup calls to make sure all was right.
