I was looking for a new mechanic and this shop was recommended to me. Knowing I had some expensive jobs, I was nervous but when I met Denny he told me right away one job needed work he did not do, the rest he could, he did them quickly, and recommended another place to do the wheel job, also done quickly and reasonably. Both shops charged less than expected, did lovely jobs, and treated me with respect (unusual for a woman who knows little about mechanics). I would highly recommend Aker's garage for anyone with either a Porsche or VW.

I cannot agree with comment that Akers respond well to screw ups. They re-installed the air conditioning unit on my 1983 911 after I purchased the car, chaarged over $500, but the A/C worked only for two weeks before all the freon leaked. Then they had to replace some seal, and the A/C again worked for only a short period (less than one month). I dare not go back anymore as I wish not to spend money on a problem that they do not know how to fix.

I had a 1978 911 SC Targa that I recently sold for a BMW 540i. I miss my old Porsche and Denny Aker who was my mechanic for the whole time I owned that Porsche. He was fabulous. (I heard he was retiring, but I saw him in the shop a few days ago when I drove by, so I hope for the sake of other Porsche owners that he is still there.) Denny is honest, hard-working, and knowedgeable. He even made a house call when I was sitting on empty and couldn't get my fuel door open to refuel the car. He also gave phone advice freely and warned me on the few occasions when my repair was going to be more than routine. As a woman, I am used to getting the idiot treatment when I take a car in for repair, but that was never an issue with Denny. He always explained everything thoroughly and I trusted his judgment implicitly. Wish I could find a similarly-minded BMW mechanic....

Denny Aker is very knowledgeable, industrious, honest, and humble. Also gives good referrals, e.g. to repair the fabric roof of my 911 Targa. Not a lot of good Porsche shops around, but even if there were it would be hard to imagine one better than Aker's.
