Eizo is Japanese (speaks perfect English), runs a one-man shop, and is an expert Japanese Car technician (has been a racing mechanic for both himself and other teams). Many times he has worked till midnight to finish a job and not inconvenience his customer. He is always cheerful, honest, extremely thorough, and gives many "breaks" to his loyal customers. He is also an excellent resource for locating Japanese parts, certified 30,000 mile motors from Japan, good bodies to put them in and so on. My Japanese wife came here 8 years ago and says finding Eizo was like "finding a Buddha in Hell." She introduced me and I feel the same way!

I had to replace my honda civic's engine due to severe oil damage. Ed looked in many places to find me the best deal and negotiated with the junkyard to give me a longer warranty on the engine. He then worked till 2am on multiple nights over Thanksgiving weekend to get my car done for me. When I picked it up he gave me a polaroid of my car with its old engine out and new engine about to go in. I will continue to take my car to Apex Auto whenever it needs help.

I've been having some problems with my exhaust system. I know I need to have my resonator replaced, but I wasn't too sure about some occasional hissing and smells from my catalytic converter. So, going on a tip from this web page, I called up Matsuda-san at Apex and set up an appointment. That's right, a free appointment to assess the problems as opposed some guy telling me to drop it off and let him "take care of the rest" (good bye bank account). When I got there, Matsuda-san halted his current job, checked out my tailpipe, checked the flow into and out of the c. converter and gave me a price quote on the spot. He said the muffler was good, the resonator was bad, and to hold off on the catalytic converter until a proper emissions test could be done. He then proceeded to tell me that I could save some money (the parts might not be as good) if I would take it to a national muffler repair chain. I felt like giving him a hug and handing him cash on the spot for being so honest (I didn't of course because I'm a little bit homophobic and inherently cheap). I love this guy. Wait. No, I mean he's a great, honest mechanic.

I was looking for a experienced & honest mechanic and on this website I'm glad I found Apex auto. Te shop was highly recommended from the comments of Ezo Matsuda's (mechanic) previous customers. I gave Ezio a call and explained that my wifes Mitsubishi Galant's gas pedel was sticking, Mr Matsuda was very familiar with the problem, told me to bring it in and he would clean out the gas thottle box and that should solve the problem, so I dropped offed my car the next day, the repair took about an 1hr. When a came back to p/u the vehicle I tested the pedal and no more sticking GREAT! I then asked Mr Matsuda how much do I owe, he said don't pay me now drive your car a couple of weeks and if there is no problem pay me then, I said are you serious? he said if there is still a problem with the pedal sticking he would not charge me for the initial cleaning and he would then just charge me for the gas pedal throttle box if that. WOW! talk about a honest mechanic, I ended up paying him that night. Mr Matsuda's integrity and trusting nature has earned my business and i will refer all my family, friends & coworkers. WHAT A RARE FIND! Also Ezio supplied me before and after pictures of the repair.

I was impressed with the easy, upfront nature of the transaction. Mr. Matsuda took care of everything that needed to be fixed for a very reasonable price. The car's been running better ever since.

Very good service. An expert technician and superior judgement in troubleshooting and diagnosing problems. Often very busy.

Let me first say if all mechanics were like Mr Matsuda, no one would be afraid of their mechanics anymore. Heres why and let me apologize in advance for the long story. I was traveling America in my 97 Honda Accord w/ 140000 miles, and a month in Seattle was in the plans. I needed routine service before driving all the way back to Ohio and decided on Mr Matsuda after several recommendations in this database. I had him replace and drain the brake fluid, transmission fluid, antifreeze, checked the brakes (the fluid was low), replace pcv valve, replaced the distributor cap and have him help a very annoying cat converter cover rattling that was going on. He did this all with a very reasonable expense. When I arrived at the shop he was still working on the car and informed me that he was having problems with brakes. He couldnt get them to bleed correctly (with no bubbles). Well after working on it for about another two hours he was comfortable with them working properly and warned me that the master cylinder might be going bad. He just said watch it the next few mornings and let him know if anything went wrong. Well the next few mornings and several trips into the Washington Mountains went flawlessly until the day I was to leave. After I was packed up to go, I started my car and started down the driveway and couldnt stop. The master cylinder went. So I had the car towed to Apex and waited at a local brewery while he tried to get the parts. Well it was about seven when he ended up getting the parts and he worked on the car until three in the morning!!! Thats when he called me and told me he still wasnt done. So the next morning he worked on it about another hour and told me to come down. Well when I got there he told me he drove it around awhile to make sure everything was working like new. Then he dropped a bombshell on me. He let me know that during the night, he seen a, yes a single air bubble while bleeding the brakes and because of that he was only 99.99% sure that they were fixed (he didnt see anymore the next half dozen times he bleed them). So he didnt feel right about charging me for the parts or labor since there was no way he could guarantee it. So he didnt. Anyways I totally recommend him as he is honest, knows what he is doing, takes before and after pictures of everything he does, and is completely fair with his pricing. I have nothing but good things to say about Mr Matsuda and highly recommend him to anyone in Seattle or anyone traveling through. By the way, it has been three months since I had him work on the car and the brake system hasnt lost any fluid at all and has been working great and the car hasn't ran this good since I first got it. Thanks again.
