The local Toyota dealer told me that the rattling noise on my 4runner in the area of the transmission would either be a minor repair of something simple, for around $250, or a major internal effort for $1,500. I left it with Craig for a second opinion. He called back shortly and said the total bill was $8.50, his basic charge for putting a vehicle on the hoist. He said the noise was a loose plate on the transmission housing; two bolts were loose. Wanna guess what the Toyota dealer would have charged me if I had the work done there?

The folks at Redmond Automotive do a good job, are honest, keep a clean shop, and price their repairs fairly. That being said, you might have to deal with long wait times for even simple problems, and expect to have to keep calling them to find out when your work is complete.
